About me
Welcome to my website! I’m Laura Macy, a professional events pianist, accompanist and session musician. I’ve been playing the piano since I was 7, completing all my piano grades and studying music up to A Level. Although I later pursued a degree in dance, I stayed connected to music by continuing to work as a pianist throughout my studies.
My first paid gig was at 14, when I played for the residents of the care home that my grandma lived in! Since then, I’ve been fortunate to perform at a range of events—from weddings, anniversaries and memorials to concerts, theatre shows and commercials. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to play at a number of notable venues, including The Excellency Versailles Palace, St George’s Hall, and The Liverpool Empire Theatre.
Additionally, I’ve had the privilege of working as an accompanist at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and serving as the Musical Director for CODYS, where I gained invaluable experience working with talented performers.
Alongside live performances, I’ve worked as a session musician, recording tracks for local singers and accompanying artists at gigs and festivals. This diverse range of work has broadened my musical skills and allowed me to collaborate with wonderful artists from different genres.
Each of these experiences has shaped my approach to music, and I’m grateful for the opportunities to work with so many talented people. If you’re looking for a pianist for an event or a recording project, I’d be happy to discuss how I can help bring your ideas to life.
